Organic Cocktails

Welcome to Organic Cocktails!

This page will showcase cocktails created from all organic ingredients.  From the spirits to the garnish...all green!  Cheers!

Lavender Honey Cream...

1.5 oz        Square One Organic Vodka
1 oz           organic heavy cream
1 oz           organic egg white
1 oz           lavender honey syrup*

Add all ingredients over ice in a shaker and shake gently for 30 seconds. This will make a thick, creamy cocktail without too much ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a piece of lavender (this will add to the nose with each sip).

*Lavender honey available in specialty stores. Boil one cup of water and slowly stir in 1 cup of lavender honey until dissolved. Lower heat and reduce for 3 minutes. Let cool and add to a squeeze bottle.

created by H. Joseph Ehrmann for Square One Vodka

ChiChi Organico...

2.5 oz        pineapple-infused Square One Organic Vodka**
1.5 oz.       Coco Lopez coconut crème
1 oz           organic heavy cream
dash          Angostura bitters
10oz          glass of ice.5oz
Reconstituted pineapple puree***

In a blender, combine all ingredients and top with ice. Pulse until smooth. Return to glass and garnish with a piece of pineapple and a maraschino cherry. (May also be prepared shaken well for 15-20 seconds with ice in a Boston Shaker and strained over fresh ice)

**Pineapple-infused Square One Organic VodkaUse about one slice of organic dried pineapple (with no added sugar; residual sugar only is best) per 750ml of Square One and infuse for 1-2 days. Be sure the dried fruit has no added sugar. The residual sugar of the pineapple will be enough to sweeten and thicken the infusion quite well. Remove the pineapple and return the vodka to its bottle.

***Blend the reconstituted pineapple into a puree and add to a squeeze bottle.

Mixologist’s Note: This twist on the classic Chi Chi, substitutes an organic dried pineapple infusion for what would normally be light and dark rums and pineapple juice in a Piña Colada.

Mexican Macciato...

1.5oz         4 Copas Organic Reposado Tequila
2 oz           organic coffee
.5 oz          organic agave nectar
2 oz           organic whipping/heavy cream (whipped to a medium, yet still flowing consistency)
Organic cinnamon to grate

Directions:  In a mixing glass add coffee, agave nectar, tequila and a few grates of cinnamon; top with ice, cover and shake for 10 seconds. Hawthorne strain into a cocktail glass. Pour freshly whipped cream over the back of a spoon to create a layer on top of the drink and dust with a couple more grates of cinnamon.

Mixologist's Note:  This 100% organic cocktail incorporates many flavors of Mexico in a drink that is especially enjoyable for brunch or after dinner menus.

RanchO AnchO...

1 cup         cubed, seedless organic watermelon
.5 oz          Organic Agave Nectar (adjust based on sweetness of watermelon)
3 pinches  Ancho Chile Powder (adjust to taste)
1/2 oz       fresh-squeezed lime juice (generally 1/2 of a lime)
1.5 oz         4 Copas Organic Blanco Tequila

Add the watermelon and chile powder to a tempered pint glass and muddle into juice. Add the lime, tequila and agave nectar and top with ice. Cover and shake well. Hawthorne strain over fresh ice in a pint glass and garnish with a slice of lime and a pinch of chile powder.

Mixologist’s (H. Joseph Ehrmann) Notes:  I created this drink for the Elixir Cocktail Club launch of 4 Copas Organic Tequilas during our Green Drinks Happy Hour. Variations:

  • fine-strain and serve up in a cocktail glass with a floating lime wheel and a pinch of chile powder
  • muddle a slice of a hot chile pepper into the glass first or add a touch of a chile-infused tequila to bring some heat
